Kelly Rypkema is Founder and Creative Director of Frog in My Pocket Productions, a media production company specializing in science programming. Drawing on her background in environmental education, Kelly creates engaging content focused on connecting people with the nature around them. She produces and hosts Nature in a New York Minute, a video series about nature in the city, and has worked with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ, the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, and the award-winning North Star Academy in Newark. She is currently Manager and Naturalist at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, part of the Mercer County Parks Commission in Trenton, New Jersey.
As a professional Naturalist, Kelly has trained teams of trail guides, created experiential programs for children and families, and developed nature training workshops for teachers. She is a certified Wilderness First Responder, and has guided hikes in both urban and remote areas, from birdwatching tours through wastewater treatment facilities to day trips through Big Bend National Park. Kelly holds a Master’s degree in Biology with a focus on ecology and animal behavior.
